The human physiology is such that when the body is forced to exceed its usual limit or tolerance, it will grow and make itself able to function at this new higher level. The same is true for a society, if nothing is asked of it and it faces no struggle then it is not at its full potential, its true self is not realized. Not until much more is asked of it will it exceed what is usual and raise itself to the top of humanity, and if being the top is not a societies goal than it does not deserve the consideration of nature and its absolute law. Utopia is not the goal, utopia is a state or place of atrophy and the end result of atrophy is death either by total and final decay or by destruction at the hand of a powerful society.
